Who we are

Together, we’re turning pain into purpose—advocating for mental health, sparking hope, and building a future where no one faces the darkness alone..

The Story Behind Make Joe Proud

Joe was the kind of person who made an impact wherever he went.

He graduated from a BOCES automotive program in high school and went on to complete lineman school, proudly working in the field. Joe believed in hard work and building a future for himself. He was also a volunteer firefighter, always willing to help his community.

Joe loved trucks and was proud of his dream truck, often attending truck meets and spending time with friends who shared the same passion.

Standing 6'1", Joe gave the best hugs and had a smile that could light up any room. He had a presence that made people feel welcome, and he cared deeply about the people in his life.

The Make Joe Proud Foundation was created in his memory to keep his spirit alive through kindness, community involvement, and mental health awareness. By supporting young people, encouraging connection, and giving back, we hope to honor Joe’s life and continue the good he brought into the world.

This bench was made by my nephew Dalton, Joe’s best friend, in his welding class. It is a beautiful memorial and a quiet place to sit and think of Joe.

One of my favorite pictures of Joe. A reminder of what a hard worker he was and how he lived his life, full of adventure and curiosity!
